Patricia Young

Our founder, Dr. Young attended Meredith College in Raleigh, NC for her undergraduate studies where she earned concurrent bachelor's degrees in chemistry and biology, was a member of the Kappa Nu Sigma Scholastic Honor Society, and received the prestigious "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges" honor. Graduating magna cum laude in 1975 she immediately pursued her veterinary studies at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. She is certified in both veterinary physical rehabilitation and acupuncture.

Dr. Johanna Clark

Our Medical Director, Dr. Johanna Clark received her undergraduate degree in animal science from North Carolina State University in 1994. She went on to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University college of Veterinary Medicine in 1998, thereafter joining Steele Creek Animal Hospital. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association. Her professional interests include neurology, oncology, internal medicine and dentistry.

Melinda Sawyer Whitaker

Dr. Whitaker earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and studied animal science at North Carolina State University. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. She continues her memberships with the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. She is a member of the North Carolina Veterinary Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Kirkpatrick earned her undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from North Carolina State University in 2010. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. Dr. Kirkpatrick is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Kirkpatrick's professional interests include preventive medicine, surgery, pain management, dentistry, and ultrasound.

Desiree S. Judy

Dr. Judy earned her undergraduate degree in animal and veterinary science from Clemson University in 2000 and then went on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004 (from which she graduated cum laude). She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association. Her professional interests are in surgery and preventative medicine.

Amy Schuver

Dr. Amy Schuver graduated N.C. State in 2006 with an animal science degree with a concentration in animal genetics and nutrition. She went on to complete her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Tennessee in 2012. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the NC Veterinary Medical Association. She completed her certification in Veterinary Acupuncture from the Chi institute in 2016 and attended the Integrative Veterinary Medical Institute for Canine Rehabilitation in 2020-2021.
